This document explains some of the processes used to record the Pitching Startups podcast remotely to make sure it runs smoothly.
ABOUT THE SHOW:
Pitching to VCs is such an unknown! In each episode, we present a real founder pitching to real investors, sharing the Q&A, feedback, and the mental models VCs use to evaluate a startup/idea/founder.
This show is for you if you need help understanding the “why” behind investors’ questions and funding decisions. We extract practical insights that will prepare you for your pitching journey.

- Investors, if you are interested, please reach out to the founders after (I will ask them what’s the best way)

Podcast Flow & Timing -
The goal is under an hour and as close to 45 minutes as possible
- We will do our podcast intro and setup. - 3 minutes
- Investor intros - We will introduce you (and you will give a brief intro - firm and anything noteable.. - 3 minutes
- Founder/startup intro- We will introduce you and then let you get into your pitch. - 2 minutes
- Founders will have up to 7 minutes to pitch, either with or without a presentation (sharing your screen). - 7 minutes
- Investors will ask questions for 10 -12 minutes.
- Where can the investors reach you if they’re interested?
- Founders will then go into Audience Mode or drop off.
- Angie will ask follow-up questions to the investors to understand why they asked certain questions and what they’re looking for in a pitch. This will be around 10 -12 minutes.
